Whether you have taken some photos of discontinued products or no longer need those promotional shots from last year’s advertising campaign, it helps to know how to remove photos from your iPhone's photo library. Although a one-click method for removing the library isn’t available, you can delete all of your photos quickly and easily. Photos can be removed via iTunes or directly from the iPhone.
Remove With iTunes
Launch the iTunes application on your computer.
Connect your iPhone to your computer using the dock-to-USB cable provided with the phone.
Click on your iPhone under the “Devices” heading in iTunes. It may take a few seconds for the iPhone to appear after you connect it to your computer.
Click the “Photos” tab in the main iTunes window.
Click the “Sync Photos from” check box and select either your photo application or "Choose Folder" on the pull-down menu, depending on which method you used to transfer your photos to the iPhone. If you select "Choose Folder," navigate to the desired folder and double-click on it.
Click the radio button next to “Selected albums, events, and faces.”
Uncheck all of the check boxes next to your events, albums and faces.
Click the “Apply” button to remove all of the photos from the iPhone’s photo library.
Remove via the iPhone
Click the “Photos” button on your iPhone's home screen.
Open your camera roll.
Tap the “Share” button; it is rectangular and has an arrow pointing out of it.
Scroll through the list of thumbnails, tapping each one. A red checkmark appears on a thumbnail when you have tapped it.
Tap the “Delete” button to remove all of the pictures from the photo library.
